Descrizione del lavoro:
Why we are here
Tony's Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand-in-hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Waitrose, Ben & Jerry's, and Albert Heijn have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.
What you will do
We're looking for a commercially sharp, impact-driven Commercial Controller for DACH & Other Markets to help drive disciplined, sustainable growth across one of our most dynamic regions.
In this role, you will:
* Own performance and planning for DACH, one of our key growth markets
* Support and shape other markets, including early-stage and developing markets where we are building presence and testing new opportunities
As Tony's continues to grow internationally, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of additional markets over time, including spin-offs of markets we are currently seeding or scaling.
You will act as a true business partner, ensuring our commercial plans don't just look good on paper, but deliver profitable, sustainable growth. You'll bring structure and clarity in environments that require both focus and flexibility, balancing growth ambitions with strong financial discipline. You'll play a key role in embedding revenue growth management fundamentals, from pricing and promotions to assortment and trade investment, helping us scale without compromising margin or mission.
Beyond your markets, you'll be part of our Homebase Commercial Finance team, contributing to cross-market insights, tools and ways of working, turning local learnings into scalable improvements. If you get energy from combining commercial sharpness with purpose, and want to shape both market performance and how we operate globally, this could be your next step! You'll report to the Head of Commercial Finance and be based in Amsterdam.
All wrapped up, in this role you'll
* Lead planning & control cycles: Own and execute Tony's planning and control cycle for the DACH and other markets together with the Homebase FBI (Finance, Business Planning & Performance and IT) team. This includes month end close, annual close, budgeting, quarterly reforecasts and the yearly 3-year business plan. You develop business and financial recommendations and support leadership in key financial decisions.
* Drive revenue growth management: Act as a business partner to DACH and other markets commercial teams by deeply understanding drivers of growth, portfolio choices, channel dynamics and trade investment effectiveness. You ensure that growth initiatives around pricing, promotions and assortment are economically sound and aligned with margin ambitions.
* Enable customer & assortment profitability insights: Build and maintain clear insights into customer and assortment profitability, including contribution margin development, discounts, promotional mechanics and structural margin drivers, enabling better prioritization in the markets you're responsible for.
* Strengthen decision-making with data: Improve decision quality through clear KPI tracking, root cause analysis, and structured business cases. You translate financial and non-financial performance into actionable insights and ensure comparability across markets.
* Champion insights, tools & ways of working: Promote data driven decision-making by enabling the use of BI and planning tools in the markets and ensuring timely, high-quality reporting and performance insights.
* Lead cross market initiatives: Lead or co-lead Homebase-driven initiatives such as pricing architecture, planning cadence or reporting improvements, ensuring initiatives land in markets and drive real behavioral change.
As our new flavour, you'll:
* Bring previous experience in Business Control or Commercial Finance roles, with a proven track record as a trusted business partner.
* Have hands-on experience with P&L ownership, including sales, margin, operating expenses and underlying EBIT performance.
* Bring a strong understanding of revenue growth management fundamentals (pricing, promotions, assortment and trade investment).
* Combine strong financial and business acumen with a sharp analytical and problem-solving mindset.
* Think critically, with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and turn insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
* Bring strong storytelling skills, sprinkled with love for numbers, ability to see the bigger picture, and turning dashboards into compelling stories for non-finance audiences across teams and cultures.
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English, able to influence and align diverse stakeholders, adapt your style to different audiences and cultures as well as collaborate effectively in a multicultural, multinational setting. Bonus points for German language skills!
* Be comfortable working with BI and planning tools (such as Jedox, Power BI or similar) to drive insight-led decision-making and performance management.
* Be independent, proactive and resilient in your approach, comfortable taking ownership, navigating ambiguity and driving outcomes in a dynamic, fast-changing scale-up environment. You're a self-starter!
* Strong analytical mindset with a hands-on attitude - able to balance big-picture thinking with rolling up your sleeves to ensure high-quality execution and delivery.
* We are all about being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in the Amsterdam office on average 3 days a week. More is fine too!
* Believe wholeheartedly in Tony's purpose. You live our core values: outspoken, in it together, entrepreneurial, raise the bar and makes you smile.
* Extra points if you know the German market and FMCG landscape!
Our benefits (the icing on the cake)
At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary; first and foremost, by making real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We're dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, coaching and a generous L&D budget. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including a luxurious vega-lunch, company bonus, minimum of 28 holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable events and unlimited chocolate. But we also know chocolate won't cover the bills, so we've made sure your salary is just as rewarding, for this role that means a salary between EUR 55-70k on a yearly basis, including holiday pay.
Sounds like you?
Are you passionate about making a difference in the world? Look no further! If you're ready to take the chocolate industry to new heights with us, we'd love to hear from you! Please send your direct application, no agencies. Unfortunately, for this position we're not able to support with relocation or sponsoring a work visa.
At Tony's we are convinced that diversity of thought, background and perspectives will make us stronger (...just like the different flavours of our chocolate range). Our mission is founded on principles of equity and justice, and we are actively seeking candidates who bring new perspectives and life experiences, especially from underrepresented groups
