Job Description
Innovation is what drives Engineering at Bose, and we believe Tools are the key that unlocks innovation. You are invited to join our mission to equip Bose audio engineers with the most powerful tools in the industry so that they can deliver the game changing product experiences that customers have come to expect from us.
The Core Engineering Tools Group is looking for a software infrastructure engineer to be the primary contributor in maintaining and extending our automation environment. This environment supports teams developing groundbreaking technology in the wearable, out-loud, and automotive product spaces. Our team works with experts from across the company to develop and deploy new technology, enabling the engineering community to perform critical research, advanced development and production prototyping.
The role will entail:
* Collaborating on pipelines and automation that mix software languages, protocols, and execution environments.
* Collaborating with internal teams to contribute engineering focused functionality.
* Writing clear code that includes tests and documentation.
* Participating in code review and helping the team maintain a healthy prototyping ecosystem.
* Pairing with our users to troubleshoot, support and educate.
* Contributing to a thriving, collaborative, team-oriented environment and prototyping community.
Required skills and experience:
* BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable.
* 7+ years of industry software development experience.
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
* Track record of strong teamwork and collaboration on technical projects.
* Proven experience contributing to a technical community that extends beyond your immediate team.
* Ability to learn and write in programming languages like Python, Groovy, Bash, etc.
* Experience with automated CI/CD pipelines.
* Experience with container based tools.
* Experience with infrastructure as code.
* A passion for building infrastructure tools that promote healthy software lifecycle practices.
* Knowledge of software design, documentation, and testing practices.
* Using code quality tools and standards to help maintain the health of a code base as it changes over time.
* Prior experience participating in asynchronous code review and development.
* Experience with both green and brown field project lifecycles.
Valued Experience:
* Audio DSP concepts and frameworks.
* Programming in C.
* Automated secrets management.
