Leonardo has a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineering Lead on a permanent basis at our modern and purpose-built Luton (Capability Green) site. The Project Engineering Lead will need to be a talented and experienced Engineering Leader, familiar with working on complex electronic (ideally RF, Digital and analogue based) Test Solutions. The Project Engineering Lead will have hands-on experience of leading multi-discipline engineering projects across the engineering lifecycle, managing a diverse range of stakeholder needs and requirements to achieve the desired outcome.
This Project Engineering Lead role is within Combat Air business group, and will be supporting the production test solution capability enhancement of the Test Solutions of the following products:
* Praetorian DASS
* At LRI and SRI levels
This specific role will be supporting the following:
1. Support to the Engineering Management of Test Solutions capability upgrades, the functional qualification of the updates, progressing to certification of the Test Solution enhancements.
2. Be the people leader for the Test Solutions team within the Combat Air business area. Create a second paragraph to describe what the candidate will do in the role; you can use also use bullet points to list responsibilities.
What you'll bring
* Management of multi-disciplined Engineering teams, ensuring that roles within the teams are clearly defined
* Establish and maintain good lines of communication across the Engineering IPT and upwards to the IPT lead
* Ensuring effective implementation of the company's Life-cycle design reviews
* Management of the Engineering technical quality, schedule and budget
* Support the management of Suppliers and project Make or Buy decisions as required
* Managing upward reporting and management of Customer expectations in line with agreed solution
* Control project configuration and change management particularly regarding design baselines and production build standards
* Identifying technical risks and mitigation strategies e.g. with test solutions or obsolescence
* Ensure that the design rationale is documented where change is required
* Input to Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards
* Concession management - ensuring effective closure plans are in place and enacted
