Trading Platforms Transformation Manager

This role sits within Howden's Trading Platforms Simplification programme and supports the delivery of a multi-year transformation to simplify, modernise, and scale Howden's global trading and broking platform landscape.

Reporting to the Group Head of Tech Enablement, you will play a key role in helping shape, analyse, and deliver platform transformation initiatives across regions and divisions as part of the Trading Platforms Simplification programme. The role blends structured problem-solving, programme delivery support, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on analysis across trading platforms, processes, and data.

You will work closely with the regional and divisional teams (including Operations, Technology, and Broking leadership teams), as well as Group Technology and Data, to support platform assessments, consolidation initiatives, and execution planning. This is a high-exposure role, well suited to someone who already has experience in a transformation or consulting career who wants to build deep expertise in insurance trading platforms and large-scale global change delivery.

What you'll be doing

Trading Platform Transformation Support
* Support the design and drive the delivery of Howden's Trading Platforms Simplification initiatives across regions, ensuring alignment with the overall transformation strategy.
* Assist in analysing the existing trading platform landscape, including platform usage, functionality, costs, and dependencies.
* Help evaluate platform solution options alongside regional teams and Group Technology, ensuring alignment with agreed architectural standards and business needs.

Programme Delivery & Execution
* Drive day-to-day programme management activities for trading platform transformation initiatives, including tracking milestones, risks, dependencies, and benefits.
* Lead the development and maintenance of transformation roadmaps, delivery plans, and reporting packs.
* Collaborate with regional workstream leads and programme managers to support consistent delivery approaches across platform consolidation initiatives.

Business Case & Analysis
* Support the development of business cases for trading platform simplification, including benefits analysis, cost modelling, and risk assessment.
* Lead data gathering, analysis, and preparation of materials for review by senior stakeholders.
* Track realised and forecast benefits against approved business cases.

Platform Consolidation & Best Practice
* Support the execution of trading platform consolidation activities, including documentation of current and future state processes.
* Drive the development of playbooks, templates, and guidance to support consistent delivery (e.g. data migration, platform decommissioning, operational readiness).
* Work with subject-matter experts to capture lessons learned and promote reuse of best practices across regions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
* Support governance forums and steering committees through preparation of materials, action tracking, and follow-ups.
* Drive the production and collation of clear, concise transformation updates and reporting for senior stakeholders.
* Establish strong working relationships across senior leaders in Technology, Operations, and Broking teams to support effective delivery.

What you'll bring
* Experience supporting and delivery transformation, change, or technology programmes within insurance or financial services.
* Understanding of insurance trading and broking operations and the role of technology platforms in supporting front-to-back processes.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure problems, analyse data, and develop clear insights.
* Experience working in, or with, senior leaders and varied teams; background at a consulting firm is desirable.
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
* Clear and confident communication skills, with experience preparing high quality materials for senior audiences.
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to work across functions and geographies.
