We're building something new.
This is your opportunity to help launch a disruptive embedded accounting offering that puts powerful accounting capabilities directly inside the products small businesses use every day - not our own software, but the platforms provided by banks, fintechs, and SaaS companies.
If you're excited by building from zero, shaping go-to-market strategy, and turning early conversations into real, revenue-generating partnerships, this role is for you.
We are creating an embedded accounting proposition that enables organisations serving small businesses to integrate accounting functionality directly into their platforms - creating seamless experiences and real customer value.
As Business Development Lead (Spain), you will play a central role in launching and scaling this new business in the Spanish market.
This is a senior individual contributor role with full ownership of the partnership lifecycle - from market mapping and prospect engagement to solution co-design, commercial negotiation, and successful launch.
What You'll Do
* Identify, develop, and close strategic partnerships with banks, fintechs, and SaaS platforms serving small businesses in Spain
* Own the full business development lifecycle: origination → discovery → solution shaping → negotiation → signed agreement → launch
* Educate prospective partners on the value of embedded accounting and build compelling commercial cases
* Co-design partnership models that create value for both partners and their SME customers
* Build and manage a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities
* Collaborate with product, technical, and subject matter experts to bring partnerships to life
* Contribute to go-to-market strategy and help refine our value proposition based on market feedback

Experience you´ll bring:
Must-Haves
* 10+ years of sales or business development experience in complex, technology-based services with long sales cycles
* Experience in a business that serves small businesses or demonstrable interest and knowledge in the accounting or business management needs of small businesses
* Experience introducing new-to-market services (whether ultimately successful or not - we value learning and resilience)
* University degree or relevant professional qualification
* Proven ability and confidence engaging C-suite stakeholders, including CEOs of business banks
* Fluency in business English
Nice-to-Haves
* Exposure to the needs of small businesses and accountants, or knowledge of accounting
* Experience working in a bank, SaaS company, fintech, or consulting firm
* Cross-functional experience
* Additional European language skills
