This role supports a fast-paced educational environment by instructing apprentices in the electrical industry. The Instructor must have strong technical expertise and the ability to effectively teach Commercial, Residential, and Low Voltage (VDV) systems. Responsibilities include delivering hands-on lab instruction with a strong emphasis on safety, supporting students and staff, maintaining accurate records of student progress, and ensuring a structured, disciplined classroom environment. Classes may be scheduled during daytime, evening, and Saturdays.

Essential Responsibilities
* Prepare and deliver instructional materials in alignment with curriculum requirements; review weekly lessons, quizzes, tests, and labs, and arrive prepared to teach on time. Foster a positive learning environment that motivates students.
* Administer midterm and final exams as provided by the Lead Instructor.
* Design and ensure completion of required laboratory exercises each semester.
* Utilize instructional tools such as audiovisual materials (e.g., video, PowerPoint, Zoom) and hands-on training equipment.
* Assign and evaluate quizzes, tests, homework, and reading assignments in accordance with established policies and training standards.
* Conduct all training sessions in compliance with Department of Labor standards, including class duration, breaks, attendance, and curriculum requirements.
* Maintain accurate records of student grades and attendance per policy guidelines.
* Counsel apprentices on attendance, academic performance, and other factors impacting their success.
* Ensure the safety and security of students in classroom and lab settings.
* Attend instructor meetings as required.
* Communicate and submit required documentation to affiliated educational institutions.
* Enforce all program policies and procedures.
* Serve as a liaison between students and program leadership regarding apprenticeship philosophy and expectations.
* Provide substitute instruction when needed.
* Secure facilities when assigned, using appropriate safety and security measures.
* Emphasize and teach safety regulations and best practices.
* Identify and report curriculum discrepancies to the Lead Instructor.
* Assist in interviewing prospective apprentices.
* Participate in workforce development and outreach initiatives.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
* Completion of a state- or federally-approved apprenticeship program.
* Valid Journeyman Electrician license with documented training in Electrical Theory or a Master Electrician license.
* Experience in the electrical construction field (e.g., Foreman, Inspector, Supervisor, or similar role).
* Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), electrical theory, and code compliance.
* Understanding of AC/DC systems, basic mathematics, and solid-state/digital electronics.
* Familiarity with electrical tools, materials, equipment, and systems used in construction and maintenance, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
* First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Excellent communication skills; bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
* Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and student engagement techniques.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, maintain accurate reports, and track student performance.
* Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and strong customer service orientation.
Computer Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and similar tools.
* Experience with virtual learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet) preferred.
* Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) is a plus.
Certifications and Licenses
* Active Journeyman or Master Electrician license required
