We are looking for a Part-time Working Student (Digitalization & Automation Engineer) to join our Retrofit and Digitalization Project Team. The position will be based in Kartal and requires flexibility to travel to various locations across Turkey when needed. The successful candidate will support the engineering and execution of industrial automation, SCADA and IoT projects and contribute to the development of integrated digitalization solutions.

What are my responsibilities?

* Understand customer requirements and translate them into suitable automation, SCADA, HMI and IoT solutions
* Support PLC software development, modification, testing and troubleshooting activities
* Design and configure SCADA and HMI screens, alarms, trends, recipes and user interfaces
* Support the integration of PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial equipment, databases and IoT platforms
* Collect and structure operational data from machines and automation systems for digitalization applications
* Contribute to Industrial IoT, remote monitoring, reporting and data analytics use cases
* Participate in software testing, commissioning, start-up and on-site troubleshooting activities
* Collaborate with automation, software, electrical and project teams throughout project execution
* Prepare and maintain software backups, tag lists, test documents and technical documentation
* Support project planning, reporting, release and continuous improvement activities

What do I need to qualify for this job?

* 3rd-year undergraduate or master's student in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation & Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
* Good command of English, both written and spoken
* Availability to work at least 3 days per week
* Interest in Industrial AI and IoT technologies
* Strong interest in industrial automation, PLC, SCADA, HMI, Industrial IoT and digitalization technologies
* Basic knowledge of PLC programming principles, control logic, industrial signals and automation system architectures
* Basic experience with Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 or S7-1500 PLCs and TIA Portal
* Familiarity with programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, or SCL
* Basic experience with SCADA or HMI systems such as WinCC, WinCC Unified, WinCC Professional, or similar platforms
* Understanding of SCADA functions such as tag configuration, visualization, alarms, trends, recipes, archiving and user management
* Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as PROFINET, PROFIBUS, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, or MQTT
* Interest in collecting, processing and transferring machine data to IoT platforms, databases and digital applications
* Basic understanding of industrial networks, IP addressing and client-server communication
* Ability to read electrical drawings, control diagrams, I/O lists and technical documentation
* Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Disciplined approach to software development, testing, backup management, documentation and reporting
* Willingness to participate in on-site commissioning activities and travel when required

Additional Qualifications

* Experience with Siemens automation and SCADA products
* Familiarity with SQL databases, REST APIs, Node-RED, Docker, or Industrial Edge platforms
* Basic knowledge of JavaScript, Python, C#, or another programming language
* Familiarity with MES, energy monitoring, OEE, predictive maintenance, or production reporting applications
* Previous academic, internship, or personal project experience involving PLC, SCADA, HMI, or Industrial IoT systems is considered an advantage
