About the Function:
Corporate Relations (CR) is where we shape how the world sees Diageo, and how we show up in it.
Working at the intersection of business and society, this team builds trusted relationships with the people and organisations that matter most, from media and investors to governments, NGOs and partners. It's fast-paced, high-impact work that protects our reputation while helping move our business forward.
Across communications, policy and ESG, you'll collaborate globally, navigate complex challenges and play a key role in earning and maintaining our licence to operate. It's a space for people who are curious, credible, and confident in making their voice heard

About the role:
The Corporate Relations Manager, Venezuela is the senior end-to-end CR lead for the market, accountable for translating global, regional and CCV priorities into a focused public policy and Society plan that protects Diageo's license to operate and unlocks business value. The role anticipates policy and reputational risk, shapes external outcomes, builds trusted stakeholder influence and advises senior leaders with commercially grounded insight. Success requires autonomy, strategic judgement, executive presence and strong business curiosity, including close partnership with Commercial to understand market dynamics, growth priorities and what success means for the business, while leading through influence across a complex matrix without relying solely on line-manager direction.

Key Responsabilities:

Public Policy, Regulatory Affairs and Advocacy

· Own and execute a focused Venezuela Public Policy strategy aligned to global and CCV priorities.
· Monitor, anticipate and interpret political, tax, trade, legislative and regulatory developments in Venezuela.
· Develop advocacy strategies that shape policy outcomes, mitigate risk and unlock growth in priority areas.
· Lead engagement with government officials, regulators, policymakers and relevant industry and business forums.
· Represent Diageo in trade associations and industry bodies, using those platforms effectively to advance agreed priorities.
· Partner with Commercial, Finance and Legal to assess financial, legal and commercial implications of material policy issues.

Reputation

· Build and maintain a dynamic stakeholder map covering government, regulators, trade associations, chambers of commerce, civil society and relevant opinion leaders.
· Create engagement plans that prioritize stakeholders based on influence, risk, opportunity and relevance to Diageo's policy and Society agenda.
· Act as guardian of Diageo's reputation in Venezuela, ensuring consistency between policy positions, external engagement, Society agenda and corporate narrative.
· Provide strategic counsel to market leadership and cross-functional partners on reputation opportunities, risks and issues management.
· Support issues and crisis response with clear and rapid judgement, in alignment with the Head of Corporate Relations.

Business Partnership

· Operate as a trusted advisor to Venezuela and CCV leadership, converting external insights into business inputs for decision making.
· Partner closely with Commercial to understand market dynamics, growth priorities and business success measures.
· Champion the Corporate Relations operating framework encouraging self-service use of global/regional playbooks and toolkits where appropriate.
· Use data, intelligence tools and AI-enabled approaches where appropriate to improve horizon scanning, stakeholder mapping and insight generation.
· Lead through influence building alignment across senior stakeholders without creating unnecessary process or approvals.

Society Initiatives

· Execute ESG partnerships in line with the global ESG framework.
· Deliver Positive Drinking, Hospitality and Spirit of Progress initiatives with clear fit to the business, ROI, governance and measurement.
· Ensure local Society activity supports license to operate, stakeholder priorities and agreed global/regional commitments.

Governance, Budget & External Representation

· Manage budgets and suppliers with clear controls and value discipline.
· Represent Diageo in external policy, industry and stakeholder forums, with prior approval from the Head of Corporate Relations.
· Act as media spokesperson only by exception and with prior approval from the Head of Corporate Relations CCV and Global Communications, where required.
· Ensure compliant, transparent and well-documented external engagement.

Experience / skills required:

· Significant experience in Government Affairs, Public Policy, External Affairs or a related function, ideally in a regulated, multinational or consumer goods environment.
· Demonstrated ability to shape advocacy strategies, manage senior government stakeholders and deliver tangible policy outcomes.
· Strong understanding of Venezuela's political, regulatory, trade and business environment; alcoholic-beverage or broader regulated-industry experience is strongly preferred.
· Proven reputation management, issues management and stakeholder engagement experience, including work with trade associations and industry coalitions.
· Experience leading ESG / Society partnerships and initiatives with clear governance, funding and measurement.
· Fluent English; executive-level written and verbal communication.
· Bachelor's degree in public policy, Law, Political Science, International Relations, Communications, Business or related field; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
