The Position
Our Global Internship Programme in Innovation & Sustainability (#IP2TIS) offers a unique opportunity for passionate individuals to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry while making a positive impact on the world.
Are you ready to join a global network spanning 20+ countries, where bright minds collaborate to tackle real-world challenges in Innovation & Sustainability? Do you want to work on impactful projects, shape the future, and drive change from within?
As an intern, you will contribute to a project focused on reducing indirect carbon emissions across Roche Colombia's value chain through a strategic decarbonization portfolio. The project aims to address key Scope 3 emission sources by supporting initiatives in renewable energy, reusable packaging, and electric mobility for product distribution. Within your first 3 months, you are expected to help finalize business cases for selected initiatives, support technical implementation of energy projects, monitor the operational pilot for reusable coolers, and contribute to supplier diagnostics and pilot execution with logistics partners. Your work will support Roche's sustainability goals by helping reduce emissions from transport, logistics energy use, and packaging while strengthening the environmental performance of healthcare operations in Colombia. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to move from strategy to implementation and contribute to real decarbonization pilots with measurable business and environmental impact.
The Opportunity
* Execute initial diagnostics and business cases together with third-party logistics providers
* Provide technical support for the deployment of energy-related projects such as Renewable Energy Certificates or solar panels
* Monitor the operational pilot for reusable coolers and assess thermal efficiency and performance
* Report and validate return on investment for each initiative
* Support the launch of return systems for reusable coolers through controlled pilots
* Analyze the relationship between logistics, packaging, and energy in the value chain to identify additional decarbonization opportunities
* Participate in other environmental projects within the affiliate to connect local implementation with Roche's global sustainability objectives
* Prepare clear updates and pilot results for internal stakeholders and project leadership
Who You Are
You are currently enrolled at a university, preferably in the field of Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or International Business with a focus on sustainability and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months.
Furthermore you are
* Knowledgeable in carbon footprint calculation, especially Scope 3 emissions, and able to work with emissions and mass-based indicators
* Comfortable with financial modeling and able to calculate and validate ROI and efficiency metrics for sustainability initiatives
* Familiar with project management and able to support the execution and follow-up of operational pilots and timelines
* Skilled in systems thinking and able to understand the interdependencies between logistics, energy, packaging, and decarbonization strategy
* Proficient in advanced Excel, fluent in Spanish, and comfortable communicating with stakeholders; English is a strong advantage
If you meet most but not all qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.
Additional information
The internship is expected to start between 1 and 16 July 2026 and will last at least 3 months.
