Job Summary
If you are a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related student looking for an internship opportunity to work with the global Emerson Systems and Software organization, this is a stimulating opportunity for you! As the AI and Cybersecurity Intern, you will contribute to developing a proof of concept using large language models to support a functional web application. You will collaborate with mentors, engineers, and cross-functional teams while gaining hands-on experience in secure AI and software development practices..

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
* Designing an LLM-powered proof of concept using internal datasets while applying AI concepts, prompt engineering, and text processing techniques
* Applying language models to analyzing free-form text and organizing content into meaningful outputs for application use
* Exploring AI-related risks such as prompt injection and insecure credential handling while identifying basic mitigations
* Delivering a functional AI proof of concept that interprets user text inputs through a web-based interface
* Documenting development processes, tools used, and secure practices while highlighting lessons learned and improvement opportunities
* Supporting dataset preparation for testing, validation, and evaluation of AI-generated outputs
* Collaborating with team members to solving problems and refining application functionality

For This Role, You Will Need:
* Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent field.
* Ability to commit to a minimum of 560 hours; both mandatory and voluntary interns are welcome.
* Foundational exposure to AI concepts through coursework, academic projects, or research
* Familiarity with web development tools or languages such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, C#, ReactJS, or similar
* Curiosity about cybersecurity, automation, and software development
* Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to team-based problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
* Awareness of cybersecurity concepts or frameworks
* Experience developing small applications or working with modern web technologies
* Interest in large language models, AI tools, or cloud-based technologies
* Familiarity with platforms such as Azure or similar environments
