Intern - Technology Horizon Scanning and Foresight

We are looking for interns to join our Strategic Futures & Consultancy division from Jan-Jun 2026.

The intern will support the Foresight@IMDA team in advancing IMDA's foresight capabilities and growing its organisation-wide foresight community.

Project Scope
* Conduct horizon scanning to identify signals and emerging trends in the digital and technology domain.
* Analyse and interpret these signals and trends, including implications for IMDA's work, and more broadly for whole-of-government and Singapore and Singaporeans.
* Conduct in-depth analysis applying futures tools, trend deep dives, driving forces analysis and scenario-building.
* Synthesise findings into foresight products (e.g. infographics, reports, slides).
* Assist in curating and delivering activities (e.g. workshops, sandbox sessions) to grow the foresight community of practice within IMDA.
* Support communications and outreach to the foresight community (e.g. newsletters).

Learning Outcomes
* Gain hands-on experience in foresight and futures methodologies while building domain knowledge by applying these methodologies to digital technologies.
* Learn about and strengthen skills in community engagement, including facilitation, communication and outreach.
* Learn how foresight informs and integrates with government policies and programmes.

Requirements
* Strong analytical and research skills, able to search for and synthesise information across varied qualitative and quantitative sources, distilling it into insights.
* Strong communication skills for clear and impactful communication of findings.
* Familiarity with foresight and futures tools is a bonus but not mandatory.
* Curious and resourceful, with a love for reading and exploring diverse topics.
* Strong interest in futures and foresight and digital technology.
* Quick and flexible learner comfortable with new ideas and analytical approaches.
