The Role: Planning Intern
Mission (About the Role)
The Planner Intern will play a key supporting role in strengthening the efficiency, clarity, and reliability of the planning and scheduling function. This position focuses on simplifying reporting processes, improving existing working files, and enhancing documentation to enable smoother daily operations for planners and schedulers.
What will you do?
* Streamline and improve planner reports
* Assist in reviewing and simplifying current planning reports to make them more intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly. This includes automating repetitive steps where possible and ensuring data accuracy.
* Enhance and tidy up working files
* Support the restructuring, cleaning, and optimization of planning-related working files (Excel, dashboards, trackers) to improve usability, reduce manual workload, and ensure consistency across teams.
* Improve scheduler & planner work instructions
* Review, refine, and standardize work instructions and SOPs to ensure clarity, completeness, and alignment with current best practices. Update documentation to make it easy for new and existing users to understand and follow.
* Document end-to-end processes
* Contribute to creating well-organized, version-controlled documentation that captures workflows, roles, responsibilities, and step-by-step procedures for planning and scheduling activities.
* OTDM Performance Monitoring
* Track daily/weekly On-Time Delivery performance against targets and Maintain dashboards and highlight deviations, trends, and recurring issues.
* Provide timely updates to stakeholders on status and risks.
What qualifications will make you successful?
* Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, formatting, pivot tables; knowledge of automation or VBA is a bonus).
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.
* Good communication skills, able to write concise and clear work instructions.
* Eager to learn and comfortable working with data, processes, and cross-functional teams.
