Intern - Research on Current and Emerging Cybersecurity Threats

We are looking for an intern to join our Data Operations & Intelligence division from Jan-Jun 2026.

Project Scope
* Conduct extensive research on current and emerging threats to better understand about the tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) for both contemporary and emerging threats by conducting extensive research.
* Opportunistically identify and analyse notable incidents and case studies to understand the real-world impact of these threats.
* Analyse the vulnerabilities exploited by the threat actors and highlight to team for discussion on how to operationalize into detections.
* Conduct dynamic malware analysis in a sandboxed environment and document findings.
* Conduct in-depth analysis of one to two malware within the internship period and document behaviours of malware.
* Conduct simulation of C2 frameworks and document findings.

Learning Outcomes
* Ability to apply well-known cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain.
* Comprehensive understanding of threat actors' tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs).
* Knowledge of common vulnerabilities and exploits, and how they were used by threat actors.
* Appropriate use of relevant cybersecurity tools (e.g. wireshark, threat intelligence platforms, tools, malware sandbox, cobaltstrike) in different scenarios.
* Work in a team to operationalise identified threat vectors into threat detection.

Requirements
* Technical Skills: Cybersecurity fundamentals, Python programming, Research skills, Network analysis (minimally on using wireshark), Compiling codes into binary executables.
* Soft Skills: Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Communication, Teamwork.
