Job Description:
Summary
The Procurement Intern provides hands-on support to Webber's Procurement team by assisting with purchasing activities, vendor coordination, and procurement documentation across multiple projects. This internship offers exposure to the procurement process within heavy civil, waterworks, energy, and infrastructure construction projects while gaining real-world experience in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Regular Job Duties
* Assist the Procurement team with purchasing and procurement coordination for active construction projects.
* Support the preparation and processing of purchase orders, vendor documentation, and procurement records.
* Assist with tracking material orders, deliveries, and confirmations in coordination with project teams.
* Help gather vendor quotes and support basic pricing comparisons under the guidance of Procurement staff.
* Maintain organized electronic files related to procurement activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Support communication with internal stakeholders such as Project Managers, Estimators, and Field Teams.
* Observe and support Webber's Safety First culture and follow all company policies and procedures.
* Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams to support procurement operations.
* Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Procurement department.
Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in supply chain management, business administration, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Basic understanding of purchasing, supply chain, or construction concepts preferred.
* Ability to communicate professionally with internal team members and external vendors.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a team-oriented environment.
