The Boeing Platforms Teams is looking for a dynamic Software Engineering Summer (June start) and Fall (early to mid-December end) co-op. The candidate will need to take off the fall semester. The candidate will assist in parts of the full software development life cycle on an agile development team. The candidate will work with software team members for the development process. This role is onsite, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role may be eligible for relocation.
Successful candidates will operate in a multidisciplinary team environment as part of a development team. The co-op Software Engineers are expected to be able to adapt to change, accomplish tasks on schedule, collaborate with teammates to make the best decisions, enjoy learning new technologies, and be self motivated to contribute in a work environment positively. This position is to design, develop and test software for Avionics products.
What You Will Do:
* You will plan, analyze, design, test and document software of limited complexity generally in one functional area under guidance of a more senior engineer.
* You will begin to understand and utilize internal processes and tools for the development of software
* You will perform software requirements, design, code, test, integration and documentation.
* You will review software test procedures to ensure software requirements testing is complete.
* You will perform verification activities such as code inspections and software structural coverage analysis.
* You will ensure the project's defined software process for development, verification and configuration management is followed and that they comply with the recommendations of RTCA DO-178B/C.
What You Will Learn:
* You will gain knowledge on performing technical planning/estimating, software development, and software verification for total flight deck display systems.
* You will learn about and apply industry standards such as DO-178 and others.
* You will gain exposure to Avionics regulatory and certification requirements and processes.
Qualifications You Must Have:
* Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
* U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62.
Qualifications We Prefer:
* Experience with C, C++, Python.
* Experience with Real Time Operating Systems.
* Configuration management tools and processes knowledge.
* Experience with Agile development methodology.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
