Role description:
We are currently seeking a Water Scientist/Engineer Intern to join our Water Business Line in our New York City, NY and Nassau County office in Summer 2026!

The rate at which we're seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. Role accountabilities:
As a Water Scientist/Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to various projects related to water/wastewater treatment. Your responsibilities will include performing design services during construction which involves processing and responding to submittals, request for information and other construction-related documentation. In addition, you will perform fieldwork activities including site visits and inspections for the construction projects currently in progress. This role will require both office work and field work. You will also be interacting with the project team as we work together to support the successful completion of our construction projects.

Strong attention to detail, organization skills, work ethic, and good time management.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
* Pursuing a BS in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or Construction Management or another closely related academic discipline. (must be enrolled in a degree seeking program during the internship period)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior internship or coursework in water/wastewater, water resources, construction management or related sectors.

Arcadis offers benefits for part-time, as needed positions. These benefits include EAP, 401K, and optional well being benefits. The salary range for this position is $25.81 - $38.72.
