Introduction

This role is for an internship in Summer 2026. The Internship is expected to start on Tuesday, May 26th with an end date of Friday, July 31st. Candidates must be available to start and end on these days.

Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Social Media & Influencer Marketing Intern, you'll work collaboratively, driving work that addresses a strategic business challenge. In addition to your project work, the internship includes educational, networking, and social activities. Between project work and intern programming, you'll get to touch a variety of areas within Marketing, Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility. At the end of program, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your final outcomes to a large audience of Marketing Leaders and Practitioners across the organization. This is a highly visible intern program with leadership exposure and mentorship throughout the summer.

This role is supporting our Social Media & Influencer Marketing team. Previous intern projects have included:

* Creating an internal influencer campaign to leverage IBMers as brand ambassadors
* Increasing awareness and engagement across social channels for our AI for Business products
* Evaluating and enhancing social strategies and engagement on emerging platforms

This role is based in Austin, TX. We work in a hybrid environment. This position will be required to come into the office at least three days per week.

We anticipate this role will close on or before January 30th.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

* Currently enrolled in an accredited University
* Available for an internship in Summer 2026
* Rising junior for the 2026-2027 school year with an anticipated graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028
* Basic knowledge of marketing, social media, demand strategy, brand and content marketing, field or account marketing, product marketing, or related area
* Fluent in English; strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

* Basic knowledge of problem-solving and analytical skills
* Basic market research skills
* A strategic, consultative, data-driven mindset
