Personal comments
Dormitory is good for the first few days/weeks because you get to know the other students. Then get some recommendations from fellow students and look for a flat close to AIM (there are several good and inexpensive appartment buildings where also other AIM-students live).

Languages
Language of instruction: English

Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
English is spoken widely and still somehow an "official" language, so you can interact with the local people in English. This was also a factor in my choice of country - in the Philippines you can also have a close contact with local people if you speak English - unlike other Asian countries like China or Japan. But even if English is widely used in the Philippines it's very useful to learn a little bit of Tagalog - it's not very hard and people appreciate it if you make an effort to learn their local language.

Overall
I wish I had known...
That I would end up buying a lot of cheap local clothing and other stuff, so I could have arrived with just a toothbrush and a towel ;) Take only the really necessary items with you and get all the rest locally, no need to bother with a lot of luggage.

The Asian Institute of Managment is a top-ranking business school in Asia, a regional centre in management education with a diverse student community from a variety of Asian countries (not only from Southeast Asia, but also a lot of students from India, and some from China or Japan, etc.).

Personal spending habits
Overall the living costs in the Philippines are much lower than in Europe, so I spent a lot less. Expenses for Nightlife and Travel are also a lot lower, but you also travel and enjoy nightlife a lot more :)
