Great lecturers are not great thesis advisors. I learned the hard way. It took some work to find a good thesis advisor and go along with that one. Apart from advisors, there were great professors, great lectures I had. They sort of let me evolve who I am now

Although I had high hopes for myself in terms of academic life, I also learned things are not as it seems to be. It is also a knowledge I learned from the hard way. Academic life in Turkey is based on personal relationships, not the accomplishments you did. Anadolu University is a bit better than that but if you are aiming to stay at school and teach people, consider that Anadolu is in Turkey. No matter you think it won't be the same for you, it'll be

In Turkey, the education system is kinda interesting especially in the bilangual universities. Every student must adapt their selves into understanding english and that's a good way to learn english. Also there are a lot of foreigner with who you can practice the language. When you finish your preparation year you go to the department and there you face the real world of university student in Turkey. Most of your classmates like to help and share knowledge with you so you won't be lost in any case
