The Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu was founded in 1837. Over the past more than 160 years it has produced important compositors, instrumentists, and singers, such as Montserrat Caballé, Victòria dels Àngels, Carme Bustamante, and Miguel Ortega.
The Conservatori Superior is the only private conservatory in Cataluña.
