Final comments
Galway was a great place to start my international experiences. This university setting helped me develop independence in my studies and personal motivation. It may be a different experience for those who are more urbane and better travelled than I was, but for a first international travel experience, I cannot recommend a better place!

Academic
Course recommendations
Take the seminar courses if you're accustomed to a small student-teacher ratio. The lectures are just that - lectures. Little to no interaction during class.

Personal comments
It was great. Coming from a residence hall at a state university in the US, this was heavenly. It was very utilitarian, but I had more space than back home.
