Architecture
Sheffield Hallam University
4.0/5
Overall
Sheffield Hallam University is great in that we are not only taught how to be good architects but we are being pushed to be great 'environmental' architects. We are learning how to build and design sustainable structures and we are being taught alongside that, how to be very aesthetic and very functionalist. The lecturers are very helpful in showing us precedents and examples of good sustainable architecture. We learn about techniques which can minimise the use of energy to keep a building cool during the summer and warm during the winter. The course also integrates necessary software design, meaning that once you graduate, you leave with a well rounded knowledge of architecture from deigning on paper to designing on software and from designing an aesthetic functionalist exterior to designing a pleasing interior.

ABOUT
Sheffield Hallam is one of Britain's most progressive and innovative universities. After a distinguished history as one of Britain's top schools of art and design for more than a century, it became one of the colleges that merged with the city's College of Technology to form Sheffield Polytechnic in 1969. In 1992, the City Polytechnic earned the right to the title of university and to degree-awarding powers.
