If you have time, money and made good budies to go travelling around, you should take the Interrail pass for Scandinavia! It gives you 12 days of travelling around in Norway, Sweden and Finland for a quite cheap deal! I made a 5000km trip via Oslo-Trondheim-Narvik-Helsinki-Stockholm-Oslo-Bergen, which was just fantastic! (best time to travel is may-june)

You are in a Scandinavian country! the living standard is pretty high compared to most other (European) countries. Especially alcohol and tabaco are heavily taxed! But in many occassions you get a fat discount (-50%) on display of your NORWEGIAN studentcard (trains, bus, museums, travelling arrangements,...) USE IT!

Food, Telephone, Housing, Nightlife, Travel, Overall:
was more expensive than at home.
Accessibility of student needs
Second-hand household items
Personal comments
You are best of (and cheapest) when you stay at one of the Studenthomes of SIB (university housing dep.)I stayed at Fantoft, which is the biggest one with most international students (5km from city center). Go to Freetex for second-hand stuff to decorate your new place, or IKEA in Asane (outside Bergen, 20min. by bus)
