Personal comments
Obviously, the every-day exposition to another language makes you improve with it and after some time, you, not only think in that language, but also dream in it and therefore you feel comfortable. Nevertheless, the fact that it was an Erasmus program made you be in contact with a considerable number of students of your own country, so you cannot say that it was a complete inmersion. With this I mean that the improoving could have been bigger.

It is a Uniniversity to make an on-campus life, because it is a bit far (20 minutes drive) from the town, but it is a really complete campus and you can find anythig you want in it.

Final comments
The only helpfull advice I could give is to remark the idea that U.L. is a total student life university, where you are goig to be all the time in contact with foreing students (30% are not Irish) but, in general, there is not a big social life with local people. The only necessary thing is beeing open minded.

Academic
Course recommendations
It is better to focus just in the areas you are interested into, because subjects are really differnt from one another and they do not interact at all when they belong to differnt areas. Though it resulkts atractive to try different things.

NIght life is different in Ireland than in Spain. Both pubs and discos close earlier at night (about 2 a.m.) and this together with the fact that the campus was 20 minutes drive from the town made people decide, most of times, spend the nightimes at the campus bar (the Stables). In town there were a couple of nice discos such as "docks" or "The Market" and a social meeting point to go watching sport matches at the TV called "The Sports Bar" placed in O'Connell Street, which is the main street of Limerick.

If returning, I would choose: On campus

Thougth there were several posibilities of acomodation, the studentt village I lived in was the best option. It was inside the campus, five minutes far from the university buildings and beside the sports fields. In the village there were ell the services we could need (laundry, market,...) and the houses were equiped with six rooms, one kitchen, a rest room and two bathrooms for every six students. It was really comfortable.
