I felt very comfortable transitioning into the Oxford atmosphere. The students were exceedingly welcoming to abroad students and academically, the instruction was outstanding.

English is the primary language so communication is not difficult for any English speaking individual - although sometimes lingo and accents make things confusing.

No problem at all. It was interesting getting used to certain words and catchphrases though (e.g. french fries are 'chips', chips are 'crisps').

I think in Oxford is easier than anywhere else in the UK: lots of people from abroad and very cultivated local students - but still UK slang can be difficult at times.

This hardly applies, as I speak English and studied in an English-speaking country, but it was great to learn all of the colloquialisms abroad!
