DMI is implementing an EU funded humanitarian project based in Chiang Mai. In this context, we are seeking a International Corporate Volunteer (V.I.E) to take on the role of Project Manager (PM) and support the operational management of the project. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in an international, demanding, and multicultural environment, aligned with the values of democratic governance and capacity building of local partners. Main Responsibilities Based in Chiang Mai, the PM ensures the day-to-day operational supervision of the project to guarantee compliance and quality of implementation. Working closely with the Project Director in France, the Team Leader, the Deputy Team Leader, and the Programmes, Finance, Grants, and Procurement teams, he/she will be responsible for: 1. Operational Management and Compliance - Ensure strict adherence to EU principles, rules, and requirements, as well as to the General Conditions of the Grant Contract. - Guarantee consistency and uniform application of DMI's internal procedures. 2. Financial Management and Internal Control - In coordination with the Thai Finance team, monitor project expenditures in line with the approved budget. - Verify the eligibility and compliance of expenditures, supporting documents, and commitments. - Contribute to the preparation of financial reports submitted to the EU. - Coordinate with headquarters on staff payroll operations. 3. Monitoring of Local Grants - Support the review, monitoring, and control of grants awarded to local partners. - Ensure compliance of beneficiaries' expenditures and adherence to EU contractual obligations. 4. Support to Procurement Processes - Assist teams in the implementation of EU procurement procedures. - Participate in the verification, organisation, and filing of contractual documentation. 5. Risk Management - Identify operational, financial, and compliance risks. - Propose corrective or preventive measures. - Contribute to maintaining a robust internal control system
Ihr Profil:
Assets
* Previous experience in an international NGO.
* Knowledge of Southeast Asia, the Thai context, or experience working with local partners.
* Skills in finance, internal audit, or compliance.
V.I.E Conditions
* Position based in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
* Minimum 12month assignment, renewable.
* V.I.E allowance in accordance with Business France regulations.
* Start date: as soon as possible
Essential Qualifications
- Master's degree in international relations, project management, finance, audit, law, political science, public administration, or related field.
- Previous experience in managing EU-funded grants is strongly preferred and essential for this position.
- Practical knowledge of EU financial and contractual rules (PRAG, General Conditions, eligibility rules, etc.).
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, analytical mindset, autonomy, and sense of responsibility.
- Ability to identify risks and propose operational solutions.
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
- EU nationality required (legal requirement for the V.I.E scheme)
