The Colas Group operates internationally in all aspects of transport infrastructure. As part of the global organisation, Colas Ireland is primarily involved the distribution of bitumen products, emulsion and emulsifier manufacturing, and the provision of specialist road maintenance services on the national, regional and local road network. In Ireland Colas operates from 14 locations across the island of Ireland.

Main Responsibilities

* Conduct chemical, bitumen and bitumen emulsion testing to defined specifications and test procedures,
* Record, analyze and communicate tests results to the Technical Manager, plant foreman and other team members,
* Participate in product development work and technical support - for both Chemoran, the group of Colas companies and external customers,
* Participate in the development of new test methods,
* Ensure equipment is calibrated and standardized according to schedule,
* Communicate with Technical Manager to maintain an adequate inventory of small equipment, chemicals, and other supplies needed in the laboratory,
* Understand and comply with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems of the Colas Ireland group,
* Perform other general tasks and appropriate duties as required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering or Chemical Engineering. It is essential you have Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
As a Chemoran Graduate Engineer, you will be a quick learner with good numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills.You will have good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task. Last but not least, you will be self-motivated and able to work both under own initiative and as a team player.
