Job Description:

Where your expertise makes energy safer and smarter

Technology at bp is about more than code and platforms, it's about delivering practical solutions that keep energy flowing today while building what's needed for tomorrow.

From AI to cloud-first systems, robotics to cyber security, our teams are at the centre of creating technology that makes energy smarter, safer, and more efficient. Join us and shape how the world is powered

Role Synopsis
bp designs, builds, and operates infrastructure, environments and the underpinning tools stacks to support the teams in being more productive. These include AWS technologies and Repo technologies and the closely coupled ecosystem of technology so that we can deliver safe, compliant, and reliable digital products at scale with reduced friction. These engineers are tasked with helping teams adopt these modern ways of working and providing the tools and services they need to support them in this endeavor, reducing the cognitive load as much as possible.

As an Endur Environment Support Analyst, you will play a key role in maintaining the stability, reliability, and continuity of bp's critical trading application landscape. You will maintain, monitor, deploy, and troubleshoot application environments; support windows servers and AWS cloud infrastructure; maintain and support the Endur platform; and develop automation tooling and scripts that improve operational efficiency. Working closely with development, QA, and operations teams, you will help implement environment standards and processes, infrastructure automation, and monitoring capabilities that enable secure, scalable, high-quality digital delivery. This role is well suited to someone with a service-oriented mindset, strong problem-solving curiosity, and a commitment to keeping complex systems running smoothly.

What You'll Do
* Handle day-to-day environment support requests across development, test, staging, and production environments, including access requests, environment availability, refreshes, environment builds, security setup, monitoring, alerting, and health checks.
* Monitor application and infrastructure health, investigate alerts, perform routine checks, and take action to maintain environment stability and operational readiness.
* Coordinate planned outages, maintenance windows, patching activities, environment schedules, and downtime communications so teams understand timing, impact, and required actions.
* Troubleshoot environment issues and work with infrastructure, application support, development, QA, and engineering teams to identify root cause, implement fixes, and prevent recurrence.
* Support environment deployments by maintaining deployment pipelines, automating repeatable tasks, and improving reliability across cloud and application platforms.
* Maintain AWS cloud environments by supporting infrastructure automation, optimizing cloud resources, and ensuring monitoring and alerting capabilities are in place for system reliability. Maintain Windows servers and environment scheduling and patching.
* Follow architectural, security, compliance, and operational standards to protect system integrity and support safe, controlled delivery across critical trading applications.
* Create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures, runbooks, and support documentation so operational processes are clear, repeatable, and easy for teams to follow.
* Partner with teams across the organization to align DevOps tools, environment practices, and support processes with business needs for faster, more consistent, high-quality delivery.

What We're Looking For
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
* 3 to 8 years of application support or environment/infrastructure management
* Strong understanding of modern service delivery (SRE, ITIL, product-based models).
* Deep expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, databases, security, and load balancing.
* Proven experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef).
* Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, ELK).
* Strong scripting/programming skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Java).
* Solid understanding of cloud security controls, including NSGs, firewalls, and IAM.

Desirable Criteria
* Openlink Endur experience
* PowerShell scripting for automation, environment, and pipeline tasks
* Development experience in .Net (C#), Java, Python.
* Strong relational database skills, especially Oracle or MS SQL Server
* Demonstrated ability to design, implement, maintain, and document technical solutions collaboratively.
* Relevant certifications (AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
