Director - SwapClear & Listed Rates Transformation Delivery Lead, London Clearing House Ltd

About LCH
LCH Ltd is a leading global central counterparty clearing house (CCP) and part of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). LCH plays a critical role in global financial markets by mitigating counterparty risk across multiple asset classes, serving a broad ecosystem of exchanges, trading venues and over-the-counter markets. Its clients include the majority of the world's major investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, and other institutional market participants.

As a CCP of systemic importance, LCH sits at the centre of financial transactions and applies rigorous risk management, collateralisation, and margining practices to ensure market integrity and stability. The organisation is designated as critical financial market infrastructure and operates under the supervision of multiple global regulators, including the Bank of England and the CFTC.

This role offers the opportunity to work within one of the most critical technology environments in global financial services. The resilience, availability and control framework of LCH's platforms are fundamental to the functioning of international markets and demand the highest standards of engineering excellence, operational discipline and regulatory compliance. As part of LSEG, LCH also benefits from deep collaboration across a global technology organisation spanning trading, data and post-trade services.

About SwapClear
SwapClear is the global market leader in clearing OTC (over the counter) interest rate derivatives. SwapClear clears over 10 million trades, with total notional exceeding $1.8 quadrillion a year and remains the deepest and most liquid CCP for interest rate swaps globally.

The platform supports over 100 clearing members and a global client base, providing advanced post-trade services including margin optimisation, compression, and portfolio risk management capabilities. Its scale, complexity and criticality require world-class technology, with a strong emphasis on resilience, performance, data integrity and continuous innovation.

The Role
We are seeking a senior technology leader to drive key elements of the transformation of the SwapClear platform and its delivery model. The transformation objective is to improve the flow of value, engineering productivity, platform resilience, and scalability, ensuring technology enables both the protection and growth of the business. The position reports to the Head of SwapClear Engineering.

The successful candidate will bring deep engineering expertise, a strong advocate for modern engineering practices, and the ability to operate effectively at both strategic and execution levels. They will work in close partnership with business leadership, as well as cross-functional teams spanning engineering, product, data, and operations, to contribute to and deliver a multi-year transformation agenda.

This role requires the ability to align diverse stakeholders, manage complex interdependencies, and drive delivery in a highly regulated, systemically important environment. The individual will shape and evolve the delivery operating model, ensuring it supports scalable, high-quality execution through empowered, autonomous teams and a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

A key focus will be the transformation of the technology estate, including cloud migration, modernisation of the overall platform, and the evolution of build, test and release practices. The role will balance innovation and pace with the need for robustness, control, and regulatory compliance.

Operating at the heart of one of the most critical infrastructures in global financial markets, this is a high-impact leadership role requiring a combination of strategic vision, engineering depth, and disciplined execution.

The role will initially focus on driving key elements of the SwapClear transformation agenda and strengthening delivery execution. Over time, there is significant scope to expand into broader technology leadership responsibilities as the transformation matures."

* Champion adoption of AI-augmented engineering practices across the SDLC to improve developer productivity, code quality and delivery speed, ensuring appropriate controls, auditability and risk management.
* Manage cross-platform dependencies and sequencing across multiple programmes, ensuring coordinated delivery across highly interconnected systems.
