Beschreibung:
At Amazon we believe that every day is still day one. A day to take the first step, look forward to new challenges, and make your ideas come to life. That's the energy and passion behind Amazon, and today is your day to be part of it.
The Process Improvement Specialist in Global Operational Excellence (GOX) owns the expansion of proven EU Operational Excellence solutions into new Amazon regions. You sit within the EU organisation and work hand in hand with regional Operations teams. You are the bridge that takes tools, mechanisms and data-driven solutions already delivering results in the EU, then adapts, extends and rolls them out across a new network.
Your core loop is straightforward: understand what the region needs, partner with technology teams to expand the solution to meet that need, then support the local ACES team in rolling it out on the ground. You will listen to operators and leaders to surface real problems, translate those needs into clear requirements for tech partners, and enable local teams to adopt the solution and sustain it without constant central support. Stakeholder management is the largest part of this job.
Analytics is the backbone. You will mine and interpret large-scale operational datasets to find where a region's gaps are, quantify the opportunity behind each solution, and validate through rigorous pre and post analysis that expanded tools actually move the metrics that matter. You will write SQL against large data warehouses (Andes/Redshift, Athena) and use visualisation tools (QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI) to make insights self-service for stakeholders, connecting systemic root causes to shop-floor impact and customer delivery outcomes. You are not expected to own production data engineering, but you should be comfortable pulling, transforming and analysing data independently, framing operational challenges as structured analytical problems, and holding deep technical conversations with engineering and analytics partners.
We are looking for a process improvement leader who enjoys operational analytics and cross-region collaboration, and who can turn a good idea in one geography into a scaled, sustained, data-backed capability in another. You want to find out what a region does not know yet, equip its stakeholders and ACES teams with the right solutions, and make adoption last beyond launch.
Please note: this role is based in the EU and can be located at any EU node. It requires up to 35% travel, primarily within the EU, with occasional travel to partner regions to support rollouts and stakeholder engagement.
Key job responsibilities
- Act as the primary bridge between EU GOX solutions and regional Operations teams, owning the end-to-end expansion of EU tools and mechanisms into a new network.
- Engage deeply with regional Ops stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs, pain points and priorities, and translate them into a clear, data-backed solution roadmap.
- Perform data mining and analysis across multiple systems (Redshift, Athena and other warehouses) to identify the region's gaps, quantify the opportunity, and prioritize which EU solutions to expand.
- Write advanced SQL (window functions, CTEs, query optimization) to perform root cause analysis and connect systemic issues to shop-floor and customer delivery impact.
- Build and maintain dashboards and self-service analytical tools (QuickSight, automated reports) that let regional stakeholders detect problems ahead of customer impact.
- Develop assessments, readouts and reports that communicate rollout progress, adoption and quantified business impact to regional and EU senior leadership.
- Identify and manage the risks, dependencies and cross-region differences (regulatory, network, systems) that affect successful adoption.
- Build a repeatable, data-backed playbook for expanding EU solutions into new regions that scales to additional workstreams over time.
About the team
The Global Operational Excellence (GOX) team drives operational improvements across Amazon's EU fulfillment network and beyond, working at the intersection of technology and operations to optimize how inventory is placed, moved and delivered. GOX builds the standards, tools and daily management mechanisms that turn performance into a managed system rather than a daily fire-fight. This role extends solutions proven in the EU into new regions, equipping local Operations teams to deliver flawless fulfillment: on time, at speed and at the lowest cost
