A leader in the Financial Industry for Innovation, LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) have a unique opportunity to be part of the Commodities Development Team. We are building the next generation data platform that will underpin the £170m commodities business that deals with nearly 150TB data. Having recently received funding for a major re-platforming project for a cloud based solution and we need you to get this underway! The current CBD is development on Oracle and Java. This team are also crafting and implementing feature enhancements to our existing platform based on customer / product demand.

WORKSTYLE MODEL

We know balance is the key, therefore we propose hybrid way of working. You are welcome to work from our brand-new office every day, but you have still an opportunity to stay at home if needed. In this position you can work 4 days a week from home.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
* Demonstrates extensive knowledge of technologies and/or SME knowledge of a technology, advising others on design, development and implementation
* Advances tools and applications by producing expert code and producing the right solutions needed
* Handles own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture
* Is regarded as the point of contact in their domain by showing significant depth of knowledge and expertise in software development and develops further knowledge of other domains to act on linkages and dependencies
* Understands how the technology / domain strategy relates to and impacts own work, supporting the implementation of strategy and culture within all work. Supports strategy definition where appropriate
* Develops an understanding of the market and LSEG's commercial position in it
* Leads the delivery of critical projects, working autonomously and with little direction; may ensure the timely completion of work from other team members, delegating work when required and mentoring others
* Works with product team and architects to decompose a solution into Epics
* Leads design work and planning for Epics breaking them down to journeys with product owners and quality leads
* Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions
* Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, growing own network and collaborating with other teams
* Communicates complex / technical information clearly and concisely in an audience appropriate format
* Continues to develop technology and industry expertise through certifications, professional qualifications and networking events.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
* Professional qualification or equivalent
* Significant knowledge of at least one programming language
* Significant experience in a Software development and delivery role
* Strong experience of multiple development technologies and knowledge of when patterns are appropriate and solutions are anti-patterns
* Experience of Commodities Business is preferred
* Experiance developing data platforms in Cloud
* Experiance in Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, delivery management, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance.
