Location: Brandon, Manitoba, Canada

Term: 8 months (starting in May)

At Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES), the Instrumentation and Controls Team supports the KAES manufacturing facilities in running a safe and reliable business. The team has diverse capabilities in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, project engineering, equipment condition assessment and nondestructive testing.

The Instrumentation and Controls Team is hiring an I&C intern focused on instrumentation and controls.

What You Will Do

* Working directly with Instrumentation & Controls Engineering and Reliability. Applying fundamentals and engineering tools to design Instrumentation and control systems.
* Maintain clear documentation on design and test development
* Interface with outside material suppliers, contract manufacturers, and product distributors
* Provide products support and evolution
* Work on instrumentation calibration, loop checks, and control system troubleshooting
* Support programming and configuration of PLCs and DCS systems for process control

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* Currently enrolled as a third- or fourth-year student in an Electrical/Instrumentation/Chemical Engineering degree or related degree, or alternative program. (e.g., 4 year college program, 2 year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.)
* Legal authorization to work permanently in Canada for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas
* Ability to climb up to 150 ft above ground level on occasion
* Ability to lift 30 lb weight when required
* Ability to make confined space entry on occasion

What Will Put You Ahead

* Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools
* Familiarity with PLC programming or DCS systems
* Exposure to electrical codes (Canadian Electrical Code, NFPA)
* Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical or control systems
