Role Summary
Join the Navigation team, a collaborative force within Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies. The Navigation team focuses on the Navigation application, the most utilized in-vehicle infotainment feature, directly impacting customer confidence and EV experience by mitigating range anxiety. We strive to empower drivers to embark on any adventure with unparalleled navigation capabilities, integrating crucial initiatives like charger data, trip planning, and voice assistance.
As an intern, you'll contribute to building cutting-edge experiences and scaling our navigation system for future growth. We're seeking passionate individuals who are eager to develop experiences that enable seamless adventure planning and exploration, pushing the boundaries of vehicle capabilities.
Responsibilities
* Application Development: Design and develop navigation applications on the Android OS for the vehicle.
* Feature Implementation: Support feature development and technical delivery on key initiatives.
* Architecture & Updates: Design and improve application architecture to meet product goals and implement subsequent updates and releases.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Application and Platform Software, HMI developers, UI/UX System Design, and Test Engineers to realize a modern in-vehicle experience.
* Systems Integration: Create services and middleware for the in-vehicle infotainment system which links drivers and passengers to their vehicle and the outside world.
* Testing: Test the in-vehicle experience directly in prototype vehicles.
Qualifications
* Educational Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Programming: Proficiency in basic Kotlin programming. Java might work too, if you're willing to learn Kotlin.
* Android Exposure: Exposure to or coursework in Android development (e.g., through personal projects or university classes).
* Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Android design principles and application interface guidelines for in-vehicle environments.
* UI/UX Principles: Understanding of basic UI/UX principles.
* Mindset: A curiosity to grow your skills and a sense of adventure.
Pay Disclosure
This is a full-time, paid internship with a monthly salary.
