The Role
We are looking for a hands-on intern to support imaging quality validation and production test development, with a focus on sharpness evaluation.
In this role, you will work closely with system engineers to build automated test flows, analyze image quality data, and interact with hardware components such as focus motors and test stations.
This position bridges image quality (IQ), test engineering, and hardware control, and is ideal for candidates who enjoy both data analysis and practical system interaction.

Test Automation & Tool Development

* Develop Python-based tools to automate imaging test workflows
* Control test sequences including motor scanning, image capture, and data logging
* Build scripts to parse logs, EEPROM data, and ROI-based measurement results

Image Quality Analysis

* Analyze sharpness-related metrics (e.g., ROI-based MTF / contrast trends)
* Process multi-distance, multi-ROI datasets and generate structured outputs
* Identify peak positions and compare results across FW versions or configurations

System Integration & Debug

* Work with test stations to execute controlled experiments (distance / motor / ROI conditions)
* Assist in debugging issues across hardware, firmware, and test flow
* Ensure data consistency between device output and expected behavior

Experiment Design

* Support design of objective test conditions and validation methodology
* Assist in organizing test coverage (distance, ROI, versions)
* Help improve efficiency and repeatability of production testing

Key Qualifications:

Core Skills

* Proficiency in Python (data processing, scripting, automation)
* Basic understanding of digital imaging concepts (sharpness, ROI, noise, exposure)
* Ability to handle and analyze structured datasets

System & Practical Skills

* Interest in hardware interaction (e.g., motor control, device communication)
* Comfortable working with command-based systems and debugging workflows
* Familiarity with scripting for test control is a plus

Plus (Nice to Have)

* Experience with C/C++
* Basic knowledge of camera systems (ISP / AF / imaging pipeline)
* Experience with version control (Git)

Soft Skills
* Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
* Willingness to take initiative and learn by doing
* Good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
