What You'll Do:
* Work with the enforcement team in the Business Affairs department to reduce copyright infringement of SMP's catalog and obtain compensation for SMP's songwriters. Tasks will include:
* Researching and documenting infringing uses on social media platforms and other internet sites
* Confirming relevant rights
* Working with SMP's worldwide databases and with other departments to obtain relevant information
* Update logging system/spreadsheets with notes and other info about termination notices, rights analysis covering different aspects of music publishing including US copyright law and how it impacts rights in copyrights
* Assist with research for songwriter agreements and other documentation relating to publishing rights
* Provide support to attorneys on various matters as necessary

Who You Are:
* Currently enrolled in a college or university
* Passionate about the music and entertainment business, and have a desire to build a career in the industry
* Able to adapt quickly to a changing environment with minimal disruption
* An excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners, and senior management
* You are hungry to learn and grow. You are curious, ask questions and get excited about new projects
* A highly organized person that pays close attention to the details
* Proven Excel experience
* Familiarity with and interest in social media platforms Must be authorized to work in the United States
* Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
* 7.5-hour business workday but variations in work volume frequently require extended working hours for evening and late-night events

DISCLAIMER:
The anticipated base hourly for this position is $18. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
