Job Description:

Air Liquide Advanced Materials (ALAM) is transforming the science of electronics and technology. We innovate with atomic scale engineering to open up countless new possibilities in how the world lives, works and connects. Today, our ALOHATM and Voltaix® products are critical to the manufacture of the newest computer chips required for Big Data and the Internet of Things. To enhance our execution from discovery to delivery we are adding talented people to our team.

We are hiring a V.I.E. (Volontariat International d'Entreprise) for 24 months (2 years) based in Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Located within the prestigious National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in Hsinchu, our R&D hub is at the heart of the global semiconductor ecosystem. We specialize in the development of advanced ALD/CVD processes, acting as a critical link between innovative chemical precursors and large-scale industrial application. Through a direct, high-impact collaboration with a Tier 1 semiconductor manufacturer, we transform novel materials into the thin-film solutions that power next-generation technology.

You will join a high-talent R&D team where technical expertise meets an agile, collaborative mindset. We pride ourselves on a professional yet accessible environment where knowledge-sharing is constant and innovation is driven by collective curiosity.

English is our primary working language for all technical documentation and internal meetings.

As we are based in Taiwan, Mandarin language skills are a strong plus.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As a VIE Deposition Researcher, your primary focus is the evaluation of advanced molecules and the development of high-performance thin-film deposition processes.

Core Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize ALD/CVD recipes using provided chemical compounds to achieve target film properties.
- Perform comprehensive analysis of deposited films using Ellipsometry, XPS, AFM, and FTIR to verify quality and composition.
- Independently set up, run, and document complex laboratory experiments within the NTHU and partner facilities.
- Prepare and present detailed progress reports and project conclusions to supervisors and industrial partners.
- Uphold and exceed rigorous safety standards (Air Liquide and NTHU) in all laboratory and cleanroom activities.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of experimental parameters and results in English to support global R&D efforts.

Are you a MATCH?

Must have:
- Education: MSc
- Master's degree or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics (eligible for the VIE program).
- Experience of running ALD/CVD deposition processes.
- Hands-on experience with thin-film metrology tools, specifically Ellipsometry.
- Fluency in English for technical reporting and presenting data to international stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage complex experimental workflows with high attention to detail.
- Fluency in English

Nice to have:
- Metrology: Experience with advanced surface analysis techniques such as XPS, AFM, or XRD.
- Previous exposure to a semiconductor cleanroom environment or semiconductor fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in statistical tools or software for interpreting experimental results.
- Basic proficiency in Mandarin Chinese to facilitate local laboratory coordination and daily life in Taiwan.
- Experience working in a multicultural or academic-industrial collaborative setting.
- Fluency in Mandarin
