Graduate - DevOp Engineer

  

Programme start date: August 2026

Our Engineering Graduate Programme provides the ideal springboard for an exciting and significant career in global financial markets. 

To be eligible, you must be a 4th year bachelors/undergraduate due to complete your degree summer 2026 and studying a Computer Science, IT, or Engineering or similar. 

Our Engineering Graduate Programme is a 12-month development opportunity for the Tech Savvy. Fast-track your technical journey, learn and work with our technology gurus, and develop your career in a leading fintech company.  

Typical duties as a DevOp Engineer

* Help configure DevOps tools (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery) for the team and monitor the DevOps infrastructure. 

* Involve in scripting and automate mundane tasks. 

* Plan and implement automated test suites. 

* Evaluate various DevOps tools. 

* Document internal processes. 

We offer a wide range Dev Ops roles which will allow you to explore one of the following technologies:   

* UNIX/Linux, SQL, and RDBMS 

* Scripting knowledge Python, Bash or Perl 

* Object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java) 

We have opportunities for students to join our Colombo - Malabe hub as a DevOp Engineer.

Our graduates join us on a permanent basis, and from day one you will be aligned to LSEG Markets division, which will allow you to develop within a secure framework. During the recruitment process we will get to know your skills and interest and how they align to the needs of the business, to allow us to place you in the right team.

We will also support you in discovering more about the areas of LSEG by connecting you with the relevant departments so that you can learn more about them. All the while you will be applying your new skills to real world business challenges, through project-based learning. 

What we are looking for: 

We are passionate about recruiting people who are interested in pursuing a career as an Engineer and would like to learn about the full breadth of our business - and are interested in playing a part of our development, as it grows and diversifies. 

* A curiosity for data and an ability to analyse information to draw conclusions and propose solutions.  

* Individuals who are able to connect the dots and think strategically.   

* The environment we work in is fast paced, you'll need to demonstrate focus, resilience and the flexibility to adapt to changing demands.  

* People who can collaborate with others, using their communication skills in the process.  

* Some knowledge in UNIX/Linux, SQL, and RDBMS, an understanding with Oracle and AWS would be a plus. 

* Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash, Perl). 

* Basic skills in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java). 

* Understanding of CI/CD processes is a plus. 

* Ideal candidates will have the rights to work in the Sri Lanka without restrictions

Recruitment Process:  

Once you submit your application, the first stage is the Immersive Online Assessment. The assessment is designed to give you an insight into what it's like to work at LSEG 

The second stage is a video interview where you will answer a series of questions using a strength-based-interview style 

The final stage is a half day assessment centre which involves several different types of exercises - further information is provided at the point of invite.
