We have a current vacancy for a Industrial & Technological Benefits (ITB) Intern to join our Team in Ottawa, Ontario.
The Industrial & Technological Benefits (ITB) Intern will work within Thales Canada's Offsets and Industrial Participation Team on an assigned Supplier Engagement Project that will support the execution and development of offset plans.
This position will be required to learn about the Government of Canada's Offset Policy, known as the Industrial & Technological Benefits Policy, to support Thales' cross-country offsets strategy. Will be required to work with multiple functional teams within Thales (procurement, finance, program etc) and to the engage the Canadian Supply Chain.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Industrial & Technological Benefits (ITB) Intern will be expected to execute the following tasks:
* Gain an understanding of the Canadian Industrial & Technological Benefits Policy and work with the Thales Offsets & Industrial Participation Team to coherently assist/advise external stakeholders; and
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders across Thales to identify, develop and an engagement strategy for the Canadian Supply Base;
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders to obtain important data from Canadian suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements as well as potential future collaboration opportunities;
* Maintain offset records and generate meaningful internal reporting including reporting that measures execution success;
* Monitor, evaluate and provide hands-on assistance supporting long-term strategic areas of ITB/IRBs, and as well as, supporting daily offset operations
* Diagnose and recommend improvements to offset strategy, policies and processes to support direct and indirect business opportunities
* Develop and communicate meaningful reporting to measure execution success
* Assist in the identification, research and development of policies and procedures that will serve to strengthen the offset initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
* Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Economics, Law or related field.
* Interest in the Defence Industry & Economic Benefit Analysis
* Advanced written and verbal communications;
* Aptitude to partner with various stakeholders to obtain buy-in on new processes and procedures
* Experience with engaging external entities
* Attention to detail
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint and an ability to aggregate, manipulate and interpret disparate sources of data
* Experience with database software
Preferred Qualifications
* Bilingualism is an asset

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) $49,807.31 - $66,409.75 CAD Annual.
This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including - but not limited to - the employee's career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company's annual salary budget, the customer's program requirements, and the company's internal equity.
