Interns will gain practical exposure to Private Banking through structured training and team-based experience. The programme offers insights into areas such as Relationship Management, Investment Solutions, Financial Intermediaries, Business Risk Management, Client Onboarding, and Business Management.

Relationship Management

The intern will work in a relationship management supportive role to provide business support to different market teams. He / She will work closely with seasoned private bankers and business managers. This position offers a taste of what it will be like to be part of a private banking servicing team and provide the intern with a broad understanding of the operational and internal control aspects of servicing private bank clients.

Tasks Include But Not Limited To The Following

* Understand the basic mechanisms of common financial products, KYC processes and services.
* Provide support on maintaining systems and controls to ensure the Bank complying with rules and regulations in accordance with SFC Code of Conduct and HKMA guidelines.
* Special tasks to be assigned by supervisors from time to time.
* Observe Bank of Singapore's policies and regulations at all times, include code of conduct, suitability, cross border restrictions and relevant ordinances of HK and Singapore. Observe internal guidelines and maintaining data confidentiality.

Investment Solutions

The intern will work with Product Specialists and Advisors in investment. He / She will provide support to the capital markets business (including Equities & Structured, Fixed Income, FX and Alternatives) and portfolio management advisory.

Investment Advisory Solutions

* Equities & Structured Products:
* Understand product knowledge including Basic Option theory & product features
* Understand Basic Structured Product execution and pricing
* Participate in idea generation process
* Fixed Income:
* Understand product knowledge including Bond Mechanics
* Understand Advisory process and Product Due Diligence process, eligibility and application
* Foreign Exchange
* Understand product knowledge including FX and Commodities product variation and features
* Participate in idea generation process

Alternative Investments & Managed Solutions
* Hedge Funds, Private Markets, Real Estate & Infrastructure Products:
* Understand product knowledge and assist the team in performing product selection
* Develop and maintain relationships with Front Office sales teams and provide training where necessary
* Effectively communicate relevant market information and investment ideas
* Managed Solutions:
* Attending internal meetings with Front Office to present ideas and updates, attend joint calls and meetings with end clients, and work with Chief Investment Office team
* Effectively communicate relevant market information and investment ideas
Lending Advisory Solutions

* Lending Advisory:
* Understand the process (advise, structure, write, and present) of complex credits
* Provide support on managing complex credit transactions
* Product Development and Management:
* Participate in idea generation process
Financial Intermediaries

The intern will be exposed to the day-to-day responsibilities and support the team including but not limited to:

* Understand the business model of Independent Asset Manager (IAM) segment in Bank of Singapore and the function, roles and responsibilities of the team
* Introduction to the policy, procedure and processes, as well as the regulatory framework applicable to the IAM segment
* Learn about the tools and systems used for business analysis and review

Business Risk Management

The intern will gain exposure and provide support in various teams covering:

* Policy & Procedure: review and update policies and procedures in relation to risk and control framework
* Monitoring & Assurance: detect any non-adherence to existing requirements from various policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines; escalate any possible misconduct from Front office or client-facing staff
* Risk & Control: partner with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of operational risk management framework in front office; actively promote operational and information risk awareness amongst staff
* Compliant Handing: assist to ensure all client complaints are handled timely and fairly

Client Onboarding and Lifecycle Management

The intern will be exposed to the day-to-day responsibilities and support the team including but not limited to:

* Introduction to client onboarding process of Private Banking clients
* Understand the client lifecycle management after onboarding, including periodic review and maintenance, trigger event review, suspicious transaction reporting, and exit offboarding
* Participate in projects related to clients' source of wealth analysis and name screening to enhance team's efficiency

Business Management

The intern will be exposed to the day-to-day responsibilities and support the team including but not limited to:

* Introduction to business performance tracking and analysis across Front Office teams
* Understand the planning and implementation of market-focused sales initiatives and client referral tracking
* Participate in business meeting and management reporting to support Front Office Heads
* Assist in projects related to dashboarding, business planning, and process enhancements to improve team efficiency

Qualifications

* Full-time undergraduates from local universities
* Fluent in English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Mandarin) both written and spoken
* Sound interpersonal, communication and client interfacing skills
* Possess a forward-looking mindset, strive to innovate and adapt to changes
* Familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with empathy, passion and resilience
