Bell Labs AI/ML PhD Intern

Job Description:

* Contribute to a Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) platform, which supports state-of-the-art training and inference features with a focus on sustainable MLOps practices
* Contribute to a GenAI and AI/ML systems.
* Design and implement research ideas in the field of AI/ML
* Work on developing solutions using Deep NN, Reinforcement Learning, Speed up learning approaches, etc.
* Work with different platforms and Proof of Concepts to validate the contributed / proposed solutions
* Build a framework combining concepts in autonomous agents and decentralized systems
* Work on the Auction based network selection approaches
* Explore and get familiar with various open-source software libraries

Candidate Requirements:

Must have:
* Student enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science/Engineering.
* Good knowledge of Machine Learning concepts.
* Hands-on experience with transformer architecture
* Good programming skills in Python
* Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating distributed systems is a big plus.
* Language skills: English

Nice to have:
* Experience with Deep Neural Network (DNN) interpretability and reliability engineering.
* Good knowledge of Deep Reinforcement Learning.
* Familiarity with finetuning and alignment of open-weight models is a plus
* Good knowledge of distributed systems is a plus
* A strong publication record is a plus
