Our department Global Trade & Customs is looking for 4-6 months for an

Intern Global Trade (m/f/d)

Team At our Mannheim Regional Center, the Global Trade & Customs team plays a critical role in ensuring compliant, efficient import and export operations across Europe. As an Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in import compliance, customs operations, and global trade processes within a real industrial environment. You will work closely with experienced customs professionals and support daily operations as well as regulatory and system-related initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:
* Support daily import customs operations (EU imports, free circulation, inward processing)
* Assist with customs declarations and data checks in SAP GTS
* Help monitor and validate customs-relevant master data (tariff classification, origin, preference)
* Support customs audits and internal reviews, including document preparation and data extraction
* Assist with Country of Origin-related data collection and analysis
* Support the customs team in process documentation, work instructions, and training material
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (logistics, receiving departments, finance, IT)
* Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives within Global Trade

What skills you need:
* Enrolled Bachelor student in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field
* Confident communication skills in English; German is an advantage
* Good Microsoft Excel skills
* Interest in customs, international trade, and regulatory compliance
* Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
* Structured and reliable working style
* Basic understanding of import/export processes and first experience with SAP (especially SAP GTS) is a plus, but not required
