Cat Digital is expanding its intern program into Slovakia. We are seeking students with an interest in technology to join our team to help us establish and grow our presence, organization, and culture. As an intern, you will be exposed to cutting-edge technologies and have the opportunity to collaborate with top professionals working on very high impact and visibility products. Internship Dates:

Monday June 15th until Friday September 4th (student part time contract)

After successful completion of the initial 12-week program, the best interns will have the opportunity to join our part time intern job and continue their career at Caterpillar.

What does a Digital & Analytics Internship offer?

Cat Digital is leading our industry with the utilization of data, analytics, innovation, digital channels and techniques to drive profit, create more efficient revenue growth, unlock new revenue streams, and provide more durable competitive advantages for the business through unexpectedly great experiences for our customers.
 

You'll join a team with diverse project responsibilities and have valuable networking opportunities with all levels of Caterpillar employees. The internship is a 20-hour-per-week assignment lasting 12 weeks.

Compensation:

8 euros gross / per hour (up to 640 euro gross per month)

 

You can focus on building technical abilities in roles including:

* Applications
* Observability, Monitoring, Alerting
* Data Engineering
* Data Science

Applications: As an Applications Intern, you will gain handson experience with a wide range of applications and systems used daily by hundreds of thousands of end users. These solutions support the complete aftermarket care of heavy machinery fleets, including condition monitoring, spare parts purchasing, and end-to-end machinery inspection processes. You will be exposed to both standard and modern technologies across the full software lifecycle, with opportunities to work in backend and frontend development as well as software testing. Our tech stack includes React, React Native, Angular, .NET, Java, AWS, and Cypress, giving you a strong foundation for a future career in software development.

Observability, Monitoring, Alerting: The selected intern will have the unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with top professionals working on very high impact and visibility products. Intern will be part of the team that is responsible for implementation and maintenance of systems generating operational insights and drive corrective actions within Caterpillar's whole digital Ecosystem using - AWS cloud, BigPanda, ThousandEyes, AppDynamics, SQL/NoSQL databases, etc.

Data Engineering: As a Data Engineering Intern, you will help build and maintain data pipelines within Helios, our core data platform. You'll work on systems that ingest, validate, transform, and store data so it can be reliably used for analytics, monitoring, and business decisionmaking. This role is ideal for students who enjoy problemsolving, working with modern data technologies, and understanding how data flows through real production systems. You'll gain handson experience with endtoend data pipelines and tools such as Python, Pandas, Snowflake, and related data engineering frameworks, while collaborating closely with software engineers.

Data Science: As an intern in data science team you will work on condition monitoring models that help customers and dealers keep their machines running safely and efficiently. You'll use data from sensors, machine fault codes, inspections, and other sources to spot early signs of problems, predict equipment failures, estimate how long machines will last, and assess risk. Using machine learning, statistics, and analytics, you'll turn complex data into practical insights that support smarter asset management. Required skillset includes Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, etc.), ML, SQL.

Basic qualifications:

* We prefer students in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Visualization, Software Engineering, or related area. ​
* English written and spoken (at least B2 level).
* Analytical thinking, willing to learn and develop, intellectual curiosity.

Nice to have:

* Interest in technologies such as Python, Java, REST API, NET., SQL, React, React Native, Angular, Cypress, Snowflake, AWS/Azure.
* Participation in school clubs or student organizations.
