Job Description:

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

Jacobs is seeking an Architectural Intern to join our Rail & Transit / Buildings & Infrastructure team in Philadelphia, PA, working on transportation projects that deliver innovative solutions to our clients' complex mobility challenges locally and worldwide. You'll help shape the world around you by contributing to rail and transit systems that connect communities and improve everyday life. We'll rely on you to support our teams on critical infrastructure projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion as you bring fresh ideas to the table.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global team supporting the delivery of rail and transit facilities, including stations, maintenance and operations facilities, passenger amenities, and related infrastructure for local and international clients. You'll be immersed in the process of developing architectural concepts, designs, and drawings for transit environments through freehand sketching and the use of design software such as Revit. Alongside senior designers, architects, and engineers, you'll help scale, model, and deliver world-class rail and transit projects.

In this position, you will work within a multidisciplinary rail and transit team, collaborating with civil, structural, systems, and operations specialists. Your work will blend theoretical learning with real-world application. Under the guidance of professional architects, engineers, and senior technical staff, you will receive hands-on mentorship while supporting architectural design for transit-related projects. Using visualization and analysis tools such as Enscape, Lumion, 3D Studio Max, or similar software, you will help develop and communicate design solutions that support efficient, safe, and passenger-focused transit systems.

Your responsibilities will also include

* Preparing and developing drawings, models, renderings, and documentation within a BIM-focused environment
* Supporting the design of rail and transit architecture such as stations, platforms, concourses, support buildings, and intermodal facilities
* Producing architectural designs and collaborating with other designers using software including Revit, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite (Grasshopper, MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD are a bonus)
* Assisting with coordination across disciplines to integrate architectural design with rail systems, accessibility requirements, and operational needs
* Supporting project and team administration tasks
* Producing project-related correspondence, reports, and presentation materials
* Working closely with architectural colleagues and other rail and transit specialists

You'll be surrounded by expert mentorship opportunities to help you thrive in your early career. Working together, we'll support your growth as you help shape the future of rail and transit infrastructure-making impacts big and small, local and global.

If you're up for the challenge, we've been looking for someone just like you.

Here's what you'll need

* In pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup, Enscape or other 3D visualization tool
