Associate Principle Scientist Proteomics (all genders)
As an Associate Principal Scientist Proteomics (all genders), you will actively shape the future of drug discovery by leveraging your expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics to solve complex biological challenges. You will play a key role in identifying novel drug targets and advancing medicine development within an international, interdisciplinary team. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* You drive key scientific questions in drug discovery projects, providing critical insights for go/no-go decisions and advancing the understanding of targets and modalities
* You contribute to early R&D projects at various stages, tackling challenges in target discovery, target evaluation, lead optimization, and mode-of-action deconvolution
* You design and implement novel approaches using mass spectrometry-based proteomics to address complex biology and hard-to-drug targets across therapeutic areas
* Being part of an international and interdisciplinary research team, you closely interact with colleagues from the entire Bayer Pharma R&D organization and external partners
* You utilize state-of-the-art quantitative proteomics technologies (such as global and targeted LC-MS/MS, data-independent acquisition) for biological sample analysis
* You extract and contextualize meaningful biological insights from large-scale OMICs datasets using R or Python
* Independent problem solving and efficient teamwork are part of your daily work
* You present your results convincingly and contribute to the further development of research strategies
WHO YOU ARE
* You hold a Ph.D. in Biology, Chemical Biology, Chemistry, or a related field, with proven expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and a strong understanding of human biology
* You bring several years of experience from working in a drug discovery environment
* You demonstrate strong hands-on experience with state-of-the-art quantitative proteomics technologies (e.g., global and targeted LC-MS/MS, data-independent acquisition)
* You are proficient in R or Python and can extract and contextualize biological insights from OMICs data
* Hands-on experience with Orbitrap Astral or timsTOF mass spectrometers is a plus
* You stand out with strong interpersonal skills, a proven record of independent problem solving, and the ability to work efficiently in cross-functional teams
* Your communication and presentation skills are excellent
* Fluent English skills, both spoken and written, round off your profile

This is a fixed-term position for 24 months.
