Test Engineer for Industrial Automation (medior)

Project specific intro:
You will join a System Test team working on PLC-based industrial automation solutions, with a strong focus on the SIMATIC ET200 product portfolio (interface modules and distributed I/O peripherals) used in real-world industrial environments.
Our scope includes end-to-end system validation, communication testing, and test automation, supported by modern C#-based frameworks and CI-integrated pipelines.
We collaborate closely with international teams to ensure high product quality and fast feedback cycles.

You'll make an impact by:
* Ensuring the quality and reliability of SIMATIC ET200 systems (interface modules and I/O devices) through structured system testing
* Designing and executing test scenarios for PLC-based and distributed I/O systems
* Supporting and extending test automation solutions (e.g. C#-based frameworks)
* Identifying defects early and contributing to continuous product improvement
* Driving improvements in test processes, tooling, and efficiency
* Collaborating with cross-functional and international teams

Your success is grounded in:
* A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or similar field
* Experience in software or system testing (junior-medior level)
* Basic understanding of PLC systems and industrial communication
* Interest in industrial I/O systems and automation hardware (e.g. distributed peripherals)
* Strong analytical thinking and a structured approach to problem solving
* Good communication skills in English

You'll stand out with:
* Experience with test automation (e.g. C#, scripting, frameworks)
* Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g. PROFINET, OPC UA, Modbus)
* Familiarity with SIMATIC ET200 systems or similar distributed I/O platforms
* Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, Git)
* ISTQB or similar certification
* Hands-on experience with PLC environments or TIA Portal
