About the role

At Kerry Ingredients, Listowel we manufacture a broad range of products for international companies and process milk from a large milk pool extending from Clare to South Kerry. Listowel is the biggest Kerry site in Ireland and has been in operation since 1972. The site has several spray drying facilities as well as a large utility installation.

In this role, the successful individual will assist the production manager, work on projects, identify continuous improvement opportunities and collaborating across teams to ensure the site safely achieves all production and quality KPI's. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with lots of energy and enthusiasm who is keen to progress their career.

What will yo be doing?

* Ensures compliance to Company Health, Quality, Safety and Environment policy.
* Deliver products/services committed to the customers at the right time, cost, quality, and responsiveness to support their plans.
* Utilize the standard tools, Key Performance Indicators, and processes to ensure that committed goals and improvements are achieved.
* Executes the planning and balancing of load and capacity in the short, medium term to meet the customer demands and achieve the plant strategy.
* Ensures that the staff are appropriately trained / supervised to carry out their roles effectively and are developed for future requirements using the company standard processes and tools.
* Creates the environment for continuous improvement with the emphasis on sharing and searching for best practice with other areas and other internal and external networks.
* Optimizes the performance of manufacturing assets through appropriate means.
* Leads the employee engagement activity within their area.

What you'll need to be successful?

* Ideally two to three years' experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing industry.
* Knowledge of SAP system.
* Demonstrated drive and determination - will get tasks completed despite obstacles. Ownership of role. High energy level.
* Decision Maker - needs to be decisive and capable of working off own initiative when the situation demands it.
* People Management Skills / Communication Skills - very good at communicating with, and motivating staff.
* Mechanical Aptitude - will be responsible for plant improvements and problem solving on machinery.
* Problem Solving Skills - needs an analytical approach to trouble-shooting, root cause analysis.
* Strategic thinking and Technical Competence - candidate needs to be capable of thinking about the "bigger picture". Also considers and thinks through all options before choosing one.
* High level of attention to detail and Excellent organizational & planning skills.
* Innovative / creative.
* Good numeracy & PC skills.
