The Role:
Catalyx is seeking a SHEQ Officer to join our team and support site-based and operational activities across a key client project. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards, while promoting a strong safety culture and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across both site and offsite construction activities.
Responsibilities:
* Support compliance with Irish legislation, including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
* Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
* Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and support incident and accident investigations.
* Deliver toolbox talks and contribute to SHEQ training and awareness initiatives.
* Work closely with site teams to ensure safe systems of work are consistently applied.
* Support environmental compliance, including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives.
* Monitor environmental performance and contribute to reporting on key metrics.
* Promote environmentally responsible practices across all project activities.
* Support the maintenance and improvement of Quality Management Systems aligned with ISO 9001.
* Assist in ensuring works meet required specifications and regulatory standards.
* Participate in internal audits and support the management of non-conformance reports (NCRs).
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities across quality processes.
* Maintain accurate SHEQ documentation and records.
* Support compliance with ISO standards including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
* Assist with preparation for audits and external inspections.
* Promote a positive SHEQ culture across site teams and stakeholders.
* Provide day-to-day SHEQ guidance and support to operational teams.
* Support communication with regulatory bodies and client representatives where required.
Requirements:
* Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
* 2-5 years' experience in a SHEQ, HSE, or similar role within construction or a related industry.
* Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation.
* Experience working across site-based environments.
