Job Summary
HP is seeking a Sustainability Budget Manager for the Global Sustainable Impact & Compliance team. Sustainability is a strategic priority for HP and a key driver of business value, advancing goals such as Digital Equality, greenhouse gas reduction, circular materials innovation, forest positive action, and human rights and inclusion.
This role partners closely with leadership to drive budget management, strategic alignment, and operating cadence across the organization. The Sustainability Budget Manager ensures resources are aligned to priorities, supports recurring and ad hoc business needs, and delivers clear executive-level communication to strengthen financial discipline and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
* Lead annual budget planning, quarterly forecasting, scenario planning, accruals, and spend tracking for sustainability and product stewardship initiatives.
* Categorize and manage spend against strategic priorities, ensuring investments support the highest-impact business and sustainability objectives.
* Track and project quarterly expenses to support accurate forecast commitments and budget performance within established targets.
* Partner with Procurement, Finance, and business stakeholders to create and manage purchase orders, resolve invoicing issues, and ensure timely payments.
* Review, draft, edit, and finalize statements of work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with purchase orders and budget requirements.
* Serve as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve supplier setup, procurement, payment, and invoicing issues.
* Prepare budget reports, reconciliations, and executive updates that clearly communicate spend, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
* Drive process improvements, support productivity initiatives, and help standardize tools, reporting, and budget management practices.
* Provide guidance and training to internal teams, suppliers, and service providers on tools, processes, and business requirements as needed.
* Operate effectively in a fast-changing environment, managing multiple priorities with strong judgment, independence, and attention to detail.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Operations, or a related field preferred.
* Typically requires several years of relevant experience in budget management, finance operations, procurement coordination, sustainability operations, or a related function.
* Experience working across cross-functional teams and supporting business stakeholders in a global, matrixed environment is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
* Strong financial and operational acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, reconciliation, and spend analysis.
* Strong understanding of procurement processes, including purchase orders, supplier coordination, invoicing, and statement of work management.
* Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate clearly at the executive level, both in writing and verbally.
* Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
* High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and comfort working through ambiguity and change.
* Ability to interpret and convert written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based information into accurate, high-quality deliverables aligned to HP standards.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint.
* Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are a plus.
