Job Description:
Overview
The Engineering Supervisor at SodaStream NLC plays a key role in enhancing plant productivity and capacity, with a strong emphasis on Safety and Quality. This position oversees the engineering team and reports directly to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager. The role focuses on the technical optimization of production equipment and infrastructure within the CO₂ refilling and distribution operations, as well as packaging services for the European market.
Responsibilities
Safety
* Ensure a safe working environment in line with company policies and legal regulations.
* Identify and mitigate safety risks proactively.
* Approve and implement materials according to SodaStream standards, including MSDS and PPE procedures.
Operations & Technical Projects
* Optimize production processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
* Provide hands-on technical support and lead engineering projects (e.g., equipment upgrades, new installations).
* Develop tools, accessories, and production methods.
* Support infrastructure and utility implementation.
* Troubleshoot process failures and implement both short- and long-term solutions.
* Collaborate with global teams to establish automated and robotic production lines.
* Select and manage external partners for technical projects.
* Acquire necessary government permits and manage spare parts sourcing.
* Organize training for new equipment in cooperation with OPEX and relevant managers.
Technical Skills
* Create and interpret CAD/SolidWorks drawings.
* Calculate project costs and ROI.
* Read and understand mechanical and electrical technical drawings.
* Lead FAT & SAT processes in collaboration with HQ.
Employee Management
* Provide professional and disciplinary leadership to the engineering team.
* Act as the first point of contact for HR-related matters (e.g., absence, vacation, performance, training, recruitment).
* Ensure proper instruction and documentation for team training and development.
Other Duties
* Maintain cleanliness and order in the production area.
* Travel internationally when required.
* Report KPIs and progress regularly.
* Support environmental and safety initiatives from the QESH department.
Qualifications
* Education: HBO-level degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience: 5-10 years as a mechanical engineer in a food production environment; experience with industrial hygiene is preferred.
* Language: Excellent command of English (spoken and written). Dutch is also a plus.
* We are sponsoring VISA HSM (High Skilled Migrant), depending on age and experience.
