At Grand Hyatt Barcelona, one of the city's newest luxury landmarks, we are looking for a passionate, skilled, and service-oriented Spa Therapist to join our Spa & Wellness team. This role is ideal for wellness professionals who are committed to excellence, personalized care, and creating deeply relaxing and memorable experiences for our guests.
Working in an elegant and tranquil environment, the Spa Therapist plays a key role in delivering Hyatt's signature wellness philosophy, ensuring each guest feels cared for, renewed, and at their best.

About the Role

As a Spa Therapist, you will provide a wide range of massage, facial, and body treatments in line with Hyatt brand standards and the spa's service menu. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through technical expertise, genuine care, and attention to detail, while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, professionalism, and product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Treatment Delivery

* Perform massage, facial, and body treatments according to established service guidelines and current licensure
* Ensure all treatments meet guest expectations and reflect luxury spa standards
* Assess guest needs and identify any contraindications prior to treatment
* Maintain a calm, attentive, and guest-focused presence throughout the service
* Begin and end all treatments on time, ensuring a seamless spa journey

Service Excellence & Product Knowledge

* Maintain complete knowledge of all spa services and products offered
* Understand product ingredients and confidently explain their benefits to guests
* Recommend appropriate retail products for home use
* Suggest additional treatments that may enhance the guest's wellness experience

Hygiene, Safety & Operations

* Apply universal precautions and safety standards at all times
* Clean and disinfect all equipment and treatment areas daily according to procedures
* Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and set up correctly before each service
* Inform the Spa Director or management of product needs or equipment issues

Administration & Team Collaboration

* Create and maintain client cards and treatment notes, when applicable
* Complete all assigned side duties accurately and on time
* Attend all scheduled meetings and professional training sessions
* Report any incidents or accidents promptly to management
* Support team collaboration and contribute positively to the spa environment
* Perform other duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:

Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED
* Valid state license in massage therapy or other required spa credentials
* Previous experience in massage therapy, esthetics, or body treatments
* Customer service experience, preferably within a luxury spa or hotel environment
* Strong ability to build rapport and connect with guests
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Comfort and confidence in product recommendations
* Well-organized, efficient, and able to multitask
* Energetic, enthusiastic, and professional in appearance and demeanor
* Strong team player with a positive and flexible attitude
* Availability to work when the facility is open, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

* Ability to stand for long periods and perform medium physical work
* Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
* Required physical abilities include balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions
* Use of spa tools and products including massage oils, hot stones, hot packs, paraffin heaters, body treatments, and disinfectants
* Work conditions may include exposure to odors, fumes, vibrations, steam, water, and hot temperatures (including hammam environments)
